HangWhen

Privacy Policy

HangWhen is built to collect as little as possible. Here is exactly what happens to your data.

What we store

When you create an event we store its name, optional description, the dates or weekdays you chose, the time window, and the timezone. When you add availability we store the name you typed and which time slots you marked. That is all. There are no accounts, so we never ask for an email or a password. If you set a PIN to protect your name, we store only a scrambled one-way hash of it, never the PIN itself.

Google Calendar

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. If you use it, HangWhen asks Google for one thing only: your free and busy times over the dates of the event, using the read-only availability permission. We never see your event titles, guests, locations, or notes. The access happens entirely in your browser, the result is used to pre-fill the grid, and the access token is discarded as soon as the times load. Nothing from your calendar is sent to or saved on our servers.

Who can see your response

Anyone with the event link can see the event and the availability everyone has added. Keep the link with people you want to schedule with. We do not sell data, run ads, or share anything with third parties.

Removing an event

Events are meant to be short-lived. If you want an event and its responses deleted, email the address below with the event link and we will remove it.
